1. Always com
municate and stay positive with your partner. Otherwise your dead in the water.

2. Always want the ball...all great players want the ball in every critical moment of the game.

3. Understand your opponent and their tendencies. And never assume that the taller player is better than their partner just because they are taller.

4. Always watch the set to gauge the hitter’s options so you know where to position yourself on the court. Positioning is everything and inches matter in this game.

5. Always anticipate. Read your hitter's body position and shoulder. That will tell you where the ball is going.

6. Never get stuck on your heels. You always want to be light on your feet instead of being dug in.

7. Hide behind the blocker until the hitter takes his eyes off you, then make your move.

8. Don’t worry about perfect form or footwork; just get the ball any way you can.

9. Leave the great shot open. Make you opponent make that shot. You should take away
the good and not so good shots. Balls will land in the sand...just don't let them be easy
shots that land.

10. Convert every play that you dig...and never get lazy and assume you can't get to a ball.
